My parents will each blow out a candle this Sunday in celebration of 40 years of marriage. That's a long damn time. Normally I would have waited to post the picture of the invitations and candles until after the party, but neither of my parents ever check my blog, so it didn't matter.

Pendant Lights

Considering my profession, it took me far too long to find the perfect pendent lights for our new kitchen. Everything seems too expensive, or too cheap. Or too outdated, or too trendy. Predicament. So my solution was to go minimal and industrial. And let me add..this "barn light" look is hardly original. It's all over every design magazine, but its affordable and functional and I found this great website selling them.

Our veggie garden is coming along nicely. I think I planted some carrots in there...maybe some radishes too? Should have kept better track.

The Home Office in Three Stages

The first being what the office looked like when we moved in. The second what it looked like our first 9 months in the house and the third what it looks like as of Monday.

Subway tiles are awesome.

Yesterday the tub was almost completely framed in and I thought that was exciting.

But today, John started putting in the subway tiles, and I'm giddy.
